Another racist attack / incident has been brought to my attention by a few people. Panya Banjoko took her grandchildren to Nottingham Castle Trust to view an exhibition she had curated.

Panya and her grandchildren experienced severe racial abuse to the point where her 7 and 11 year olds grand daughters were physically attacked by white visitors at the castle.

Panya goes on to explain that the Castle staff did nothing and the CEO went on to call her an aggressive instead of competently engaging with her. They let the people who had physically attacked her grand kids go and did nothing to support Panya, her daughter and her grand kids.

Watch the video to hear the story from Panya. We must all have a zero tolerance approach to racism, especially organizations and establishments within our community, who employee and serve us all, unfortunately many companies don’t care and don’t have real policies in place to make sure it’s not just Black people against racism but all of us.

All we can do is continue to highlight these issues until racists and organisations that protect them, stop.

Until then I’m working to change the narrative through 56 Black Men and working with industry leading organisations and decision makers, together with the Black community to dismantle systemic racism through The Black British Network

I’m tired, but this can’t be done by one person, it will take the strength and long lived commitment of as many of us as possible.
