*Menelik Shabazz* The Pioneer, legend, filmmaker, screenwriter, stage writer, director, leader, friend, and the list goes on. Has passed on to the next life. His work includes the likes of the flim *Burning An Illusion* starring Victor Romero Evans, Cassie McFarlane & Angela Wynter. Documentary *Blood Ah Go Run* highlighting the New Cross Fire 1981 that killed and injured so many (40 years on - 14 dead and nothing said). *The Story of Lovers* Rock starring the likes of Maxi Priest, Donna Spence, Dennis Bovell & Paulette Harris-German. Looking for Love starring Andi Osho Eddie Kadi & Glenda Jaxson .
A Story
I was in an event when I saw Menelik (he never liked me calling him uncle or anything else that I thought was a sign of respect). He was giving out flyers to his new docufilm *Pharaoh's Unveiled* and when I saw the beautiful Ancient Khemetian Queen on the cover I said to him I wish I was in his production.? We conversed and he then took my profile and side profile photo before we departed.?
A few weeks later he rang me and told me he had lost my business card and had to headhunt me to ask me if I wanted to be in his docufilm but there were no speaking lines. I didn't give a toss if there were no lines,? I got a call from one of the UK's finest and he wanted me to be in his project.???? As an actress, I couldn't believe my ears, ?'Yes please' I told him. Not only was I in *Pharaohs Unveiled* my images were featured in *The Path* he created whilst in Zimbabwe. I never got the script he wanted me to learn for his next project but that's ok, "a soh it go".?
